View Rates →This 3-day fly-in safari is designed for travelers staying in Zanzibar who want to experience the real Serengeti without spending days on long road transfers. You start with an early morning pickup from your hotel, fly at around 08:00 AM to Seronera Airstrip, and begin wildlife viewing immediately in the most action-packed part of the park—Central Serengeti.
The itinerary focuses on prime predator territory: the famous kopjes where lions love to rest, open plains where cheetahs hunt, and iconic spots like Retima Hippo Pool where hippos and crocodiles gather in dramatic numbers. With a private safari guide and flexible timing, your game drives are planned around sightings and wildlife movement—not a rushed schedule.
On the final day, you leave Serengeti for a scenic drive to Ngorongoro Crater for a crater safari, then continue to Arusha for your afternoon flight back to Zanzibar. It’s a perfect balance of Serengeti depth + crater magic, all while keeping your Zanzibar holiday smooth and stress-free.
Your safari begins very early with a private pickup from your Zanzibar hotel and transfer to Zanzibar Airport for your morning flight. The target flight time is around 08:00 AM, giving you excellent safari timing once you land in Serengeti. After check-in and a short scenic flight, you arrive at Seronera Airstrip—right in the heart of Central Serengeti.
On arrival, your professional safari guide welcomes you and you depart immediately for a full-day game drive. Central Serengeti is famous for year-round wildlife density and excellent predator sightings. Your guide will take you through key wildlife corridors, searching for lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, buffalo and large herds of antelope.
You also visit Retima Hippo Pool to watch hippos in their natural habitat, then continue to the kopjes—rocky outcrops that attract predators and offer spectacular viewpoints for photography. The day is all about “safari-first” pacing: long game drive hours, smart positioning, and flexibility to follow the best sightings.
In the evening, you head to camp for dinner and overnight in Serengeti.
Overnight: Safari Haven or Serengeti Tortilis Camp (or similar)
Today is a pure Serengeti day—built for maximum wildlife time. You start early with sunrise game drives, when the temperature is cool and predators are most active. This is often the best time to catch lions on the move, leopards returning from hunting, and cheetahs scanning the plains for opportunities.
For travelers who want a once-in-a-lifetime moment, you can add an optional hot air balloon safari in the early morning (extra cost: $550 per person). Floating above the Serengeti at sunrise is an unforgettable experience—followed by a special bush breakfast (subject to balloon operator schedule and availability).
After breakfast, you continue your full-day game drive with a focus on the famous Utafit area—well known for wildlife research and excellent cheetah activity. This region offers open landscapes ideal for spotting fast hunters and large herds, and your guide will explore the area in depth to maximize chances of rare sightings.
Throughout the day, you search for the Big Five and other iconic Serengeti wildlife, then return to camp for dinner and overnight.
Overnight: Safari Haven or Serengeti Tortilis Camp (or similar)
After an early breakfast, you begin your journey out of Serengeti toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The drive is approximately 1.5 hours (depending on wildlife stops and road conditions), and it is scenic—changing from open plains to highland views as you approach the crater rim.
You descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a crater safari, one of Tanzania’s most spectacular natural wonders. The crater floor is packed with wildlife including buffalo, zebra, wildebeest, hippos, elephants, hyenas and often lions. If luck is on your side, you may also spot the rare black rhino.
After your safari and lunch, you transfer to Arusha for your afternoon flight back to Zanzibar. On arrival in Zanzibar, our team meets you and transfers you back to your hotel—ending your safari with smooth logistics and zero stress.
