Botswana's Okavango Delta floods each year to create one of the world's greatest wildlife spectacles. Namibia's desert meets the ocean. Zambia's walking safari tradition is unlike anything else in Africa.

How We Work

What makes an on-ground DMC different

We don't resell packages from a catalogue — we build every journey from the ground up, with our own teams, guides, and camp relationships across Africa.

Seasonal Camp Placement

The Serengeti is vast — the right zone for your month matters more than any lodge's marketing. We position you where the wildlife action is for your exact travel dates.

Routing That Makes Sense

Logical camp sequences, protected game-drive hours, and smooth transfers — no crossing the same road twice. Our routing protects your time on the ground, not just on paper.

24/7 On-Ground Support

Our teams are in the same time zone, on the same continent — ready to respond to flight changes, camp updates, or anything else that needs handling calmly and fast.

Camp Access & Relationships

Direct relationships with Singita, Safari Collection, Asilia, and independent camps mean better positioning, honest advice, and access to limited-availability properties like Giraffe Manor.

When To Travel

The Africa year

Every month has a reason to travel. Match your priority — migration crossings, gorilla trekking, calving season, or value season — to the right destination and month.

Jan–Mar
Calving Season

Southern Serengeti Predators

Wildebeest calving draws intense predator action in southern Serengeti. Excellent Kenya and Rwanda conditions. Botswana's dry season begins. Gorilla trekking year-round.

Apr–May
Long Rains

Green Season Value

Africa at its quietest and most affordable — lush landscapes, dramatic skies, and fewer vehicles. Gorilla trekking is excellent. Some camps close; the experience is uniquely beautiful.

Jun–Oct
Peak Dry Season

Migration & Peak Wildlife

The most sought-after season — Mara River crossings (Jul–Oct), Serengeti big cats, Okavango Delta at peak flood, Zambia walking safaris, Namibia dry season clarity. Peak demand.

Nov–Dec
Short Rains

Shoulder Season Gems

Brief afternoon showers for a few weeks. Lower rates, fewer vehicles, green landscapes, and festive December travel. Gorilla trekking and Namibia are excellent alternatives.

Honest Answers

African Safaris FAQ

The questions our planners are asked most before booking any Africa journey.

Which African country should I visit for a safari?

It depends on your priorities. Tanzania is the most complete safari destination — Serengeti, Ngorongoro, and excellent camp standards. Kenya adds the Masai Mara, private conservancies, and Giraffe Manor. Rwanda and Uganda are essential for gorilla trekking. Botswana delivers extraordinary exclusivity with the Okavango Delta. Namibia is Africa's most dramatic desert wilderness. Zambia is famous for walking safaris and Victoria Falls. For first-timers, Tanzania or Kenya — or both as a cross-border journey — is the strongest starting point.

What is the best time to go on an African safari?

Every month works — the right month depends on your destination and priority. For the Great Migration river crossings (Mara and Serengeti), July to October is the window. For calving season predator action in Tanzania, January to March is exceptional. Gorilla trekking is year-round in Rwanda and Uganda. Botswana's Okavango Delta peaks June to October. Namibia is excellent May to October. We always match your camp placements to the right zone for your exact travel month — "season" alone isn't precise enough.

How long should an African safari be?

A focused single-destination safari works well from 7 days — enough for 3 Serengeti nights and a Ngorongoro day, or 4 Mara nights and Amboseli. Cross-border Kenya and Tanzania journeys run best at 10–14 days. Adding gorilla trekking to a Tanzania safari is ideal at 12 days. Grand multi-country tours can run 18–21 days. Our most-booked itinerary length is 10–11 days — the sweet spot between depth and practicality.

What is the difference between luxury, mid-range, and group joining safaris?

Group joining safaris share a 4×4 and guide with other travellers on fixed-date departures — typically USD 200–500 per person per day and ideal for solo travellers, couples, and budget-conscious trips. Mid-range private safaris give you a private vehicle and guide at USD 600–1,000 per day — the best value for couples and families. Luxury safaris run USD 1,100–1,900 per day and add camp positioning, service quality, and property exclusivity. Ultra-luxury (Singita, Giraffe Manor, private conservancies) runs USD 2,000–4,500+ per day.

Can I see the Great Migration and gorilla trek in the same trip?

Yes — and it's one of Africa's most extraordinary combined journeys. Our 12-day Rwanda Gorilla Trek + Tanzania Safari combines three nights in Rwanda's Volcanoes National Park with a full Northern Circuit Tanzania safari. For a broader journey, our Grand Africa Safari covers the Mara, Serengeti, gorilla trekking, and the Okavango Delta in a single 21-day itinerary. Gorilla permits should be secured 6–12 months in advance — let us know your dates early.

Do you handle all logistics — visas, flights, permits, and transfers?

Yes — as a DMC we coordinate everything on the ground: internal flights, camp logistics, border crossings, national park fees, gorilla permits, and vehicle transitions. We provide pre-departure visa guidance for every destination we operate in. Most clients coordinate their international flights independently, but we advise on best gateway airports (NBO, JRO, DAR, KGL, WDH) and can assist with flight logistics through our partners where needed.

How far in advance should I book?

For peak season (July–October Mara/Serengeti crossings and June–October Botswana), 9–12 months in advance for luxury camps and gorilla permits. Giraffe Manor specifically should be requested at least 12 months out — rooms are extremely limited and we hold allocation. For shoulder season and green season travel, 3–6 months is usually sufficient. Group joining safaris often have availability within 4–8 weeks. When in doubt, contact us early — we'll tell you what's realistic for your dates.

Can I combine a safari with a beach extension?

Absolutely — bush-to-beach is one of the most popular Africa combinations we arrange. Zanzibar pairs naturally with Tanzania (short flight from Kilimanjaro or Arusha). Kenya's coastline (Diani, Lamu) works as a Nairobi-based extension. For Botswana and Zambia, Mozambique's Bazaruto Archipelago or Mauritius are excellent beach additions. Our 10 Days Bush to Beach (Safari + Zanzibar) is our most-booked combined itinerary.
