Private Tanzania safaris

Follow the season.
Never chase a promise.

The Great Migration is a moving, natural event—not an appointment. We shape a private Tanzania safari around the character of your travel window, the time you actually have and the right overnight positions.

The right place. The right pace. A route with room to adapt.

Start with your dates

The migration is a moving story.

Its broad pattern is shaped by rain, grazing and the condition of the grasslands. That means there is no responsible way to sell a river crossing, a calving event or a particular species as certain on a particular day.

Instead, we talk about the likely character of the season, where a route gives you the best use of your time, and whether more nights in one area are wiser than covering more ground. Your confirmed proposal is built around real availability and current practical advice.

How we plan it

Position, pace
and a little patience.

  1. Read the travel window before choosing a camp.

The best location depends on your dates, not a fixed marketing calendar. We discuss the season plainly and check what is practical at the time of travel.

  2. Give the Serengeti enough nights.

A route should protect useful time in the field. We avoid turning every promising morning into a transfer day just to add another park name.

  3. Keep the experience honest.

Your guide can adjust the day to weather, wildlife and park conditions. That flexibility is valuable; it is not a guarantee of a migration spectacle.

A practical way to compare

Three questions
before you choose.

Rather than comparing a single “from” price, look at the number of useful safari days, the overnight position in relation to your planned area, and whether the pace still feels generous once arrival and departure are included.

01

When?

Your dates lead the conversation. Rainfall and herd movements determine the likely feel of a season.

02

Where?

Southern plains, central areas and northern corridors each call for different positioning and driving logic.

03

How long?

More nights in the right place can be more valuable than a longer route with constant packing.

04

What matters?

Photography, family pace, lodge style and a Zanzibar extension all change the best route.

The Serengeti is one of Tanzania’s defining safari landscapes, and the northern circuit also includes the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and Tarangire. All game viewing follows park rules, local conditions and your guide’s responsible judgement. Explore Tanzania’s official destination guidance

What a good proposal should show

Clear detail,
before a decision.

We prefer a useful proposal to a vague “migration package.” Yours should state the route, nights, accommodation, movement and inclusions clearly enough to judge the pace.

  • Night-by-night routeSee where each day begins and ends, rather than relying on a broad destination list.
  • Accommodation detailNamed stays are checked against the requested dates before the booking is confirmed.
  • Price basisWe explain the relevant season, party size and rooming basis—not just a detached headline rate.
  • Clear limitationsInternational flights, visas, insurance and anything not included are identified in writing.

Questions, answered plainly

Before you choose
a migration safari.

Can you guarantee a river crossing?

No. Crossings, herd location, weather and wildlife behaviour are variable. We can discuss the best route logic for your dates, but we will never present a particular event as assured.

What is the best month for the Great Migration?

There is no single best month for every traveller. Different periods suit different priorities, and the season should be considered alongside your available dates, budget, preferred pace and interest in particular landscapes.

Should we add Tarangire or Ngorongoro?

Often, but not automatically. They can add real contrast to a northern circuit. The right choice depends on how many nights you have and whether adding another area would take too much time from the Serengeti.

Can you add Zanzibar after the safari?

Yes, as a separately priced extension when it works with your route and dates. We confirm the domestic connection, beach stay and the safari sequence as one considered plan.

Start with the dates

Plan a journey
with the season in mind.

Tell us when you would like to travel, how many people are coming and the level of comfort you prefer. We will return with a route that is realistic for the season and clear about what is included.

Wildlife sightings, herd movements and weather are never guaranteed. Availability is confirmed before booking.
