This camping package offers an affordable group-joining safari to Tarangire National Park and the Ngorongoro Crater.
Travel from Arusha in a shared 4x4 safari vehicle with a maximum of six guests. On the first day, enjoy a wildlife game drive in Tarangire National Park, known for its large elephant herds, ancient baobab trees and diverse wildlife.

Your day-by-day route
Day 1
Arusha to Tarangire
Depart from Arusha in the morning and meet the other travelers joining the safari. After a short briefing, travel southwest toward Tarangire National Park.
Upon arrival, complete the park-entry formalities and begin a full game drive through Tarangire’s baobab-dotted plains, river valleys and seasonal wetlands. The park is especially known for its large elephant populations, but it also supports giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffaloes, impalas, warthogs, lions, leopards and numerous bird species.
A packed lunch will be served at a designated picnic area inside the park. Continue the afternoon game drive before leaving Tarangire and traveling toward Karatu, located near the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
Arrive at the accommodation in the evening for dinner and overnight.
Accommodation: Dinner and overnight at a lodge or tented camp in or near Karatu. The exact property depends on availability and the booked safari category.
Day 2
Ngorongoro Crater Game Drive and Return to Arusha
After an early breakfast, depart from Karatu and travel to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Continue to the crater rim and descend approximately 600 metres into the Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive.
The crater floor contains grasslands, wetlands, woodland and permanent water sources that support a high concentration of wildlife throughout the year. Possible sightings include lions, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeest, hippos, hyenas, jackals and several antelope species. The crater is also one of the best locations in Tanzania for a possible sighting of the endangered black rhinoceros.
Enjoy a packed lunch at a designated picnic area, usually near the hippo pool, before continuing the game drive.
In the early afternoon, ascend from the crater and begin the return journey to Arusha. Arrival is expected during the late afternoon or early evening, depending on traffic and road conditions.
Accommodation: No accommodation is included after arrival in Arusha. A post-safari hotel can be arranged separately.

Payment schedule
For departures more than 75 days away, 15% is due when the booking is created, 35% is due 75 days before departure, and the final 50% is due 10 days before departure. For bookings made 11 to 75 days before departure, 50% is due immediately and the remaining 50% is due 10 days before departure. For bookings made 10 days or fewer before departure, 100% is due immediately.
Online card payments
Online card payments carry a 3.5% processing surcharge. Bank transfer or another approved non-card method can be arranged with the reservations team.
Cancellation policy
Cancellation 75 or more days before arrival: the 15% booking deposit is non-refundable. Cancellation 74 to 11 days before arrival: 50% of the total booking value is non-refundable. Cancellation 10 days or fewer before arrival: 100% of the total booking value is non-refundable. Written cancellation is required. Where a named supplier imposes stricter terms, the supplier terms take precedence.
